Job Description |
|
|
- Ensure that the CP financial accounting environment is in compliance with CRS and donor policies and procedures, GAAP and local legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with CRS and donor requirements in the area of accounting and finance.
- Ensure correct and timely monthly reconciliation of Cash Accounts, Intra Agency, Cash in transit and Inter-fund Payables/Receivables Accounts and the subsequent maintenance of G/L account codes with HQ.
- Reviews all sub office monthly financial reports.
- Review monthly cost allocation calculations prior to posting.
- Prepare with finance staff and conduct regular analysis of the Trial Balance, the monthly Budget Comparison Reports, and other financial analysis reports.
- Submit timely and accurate monthly and yearly financial reports to CRS HQ/Overseas Finance, and respond to HQ feedback for corrections.
- Prepare and analyze with program staff the Quarterly Financial Analysis Reports for regional review.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of financial systems using the Internal Control Questionnaire and correct any identified deficiencies.
- Provide guidance for Sub-offices’ accounting staff for policy and procedure questions.

Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (ICA,ACCA or CPA) and/or Masters degree in Finance
- Minimum 3 (three) or more years experience in a similar position with an international NGO 3. Demonstrated familiarity with major public donor requirements (USG preferred), international accounting standards and/or US GAAP, auditing principles and procedures
- Knowledge of CRS finance, accounting, and budgeting policies, procedures and standards preferred
- Advanced skills in Sun Systems and Vision Q&A.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven knowledge of standard software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and to organize and prioritize competing demands
- Able to work with a team and train/transfer skills to finance department
- Strategic, analytical and planning skills; ability to think ahead and plan over a 12-month period.
