Job Description

Description of Duties: 

The NUNV Project Specialist (Research) will be posted at the places mentioned above, to work as an integral part of the State Human Development Research & Coordination Unit under the direct supervision of the Nodal Officer designated by the State Government to perform the following duties:

 

  • Provide substantive support to the preparation of documents/reports, including preparation of status of human development report in the State.
  • Help develop and implement work plan for the different programme components.
  • Process documentation in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Assist in coordination and follow-up with UNDP and Planning Commission on the implementation of project activities and monitor timely completion of project outputs.
  • Prepare agenda points, background documentation and participate in all project related meetings and record outcomes.
  • Analyze relevant Reports and documents; prepare briefs on key technical issues.
  • Undertake field visits, as authorized, for proper monitoring of project implementation and submit necessary back-to-office reports for appropriate follow-up and action.
  • Process and finalise the project budgets in relation to the approved work plan and responsible for good financial monitoring. Manage the NEX (National Execution) audits and respond to audit queries and observations, in consultation with the Nodal Officer and HDRC.
  • Help organize national and state level consultations to develop framework for strengthening State Plans for human development.
    • Assist in structuring and organizing training and orientation programmes. Support the Unit in development of appropriate strategy and its implementation, including in networking with civil society groups at the national and State level.
    • Any other task as assigned by the Nodal Officer and HDRC/UNDP from time to time.
Candidate Profile

·         Possession of a post graduate degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Rural/Urban Development or Social Work.

·         Minimum of 5 years of experience in rural/urban development or community work with an exposure to different aspects of human development.

·         Experience in a supervisory position, preferred.

·         Networking qualities with Government and Non-government functionaries.

·         Good knowledge of basic government protocol and structure in the State, preferred.

·         Good numerical and analytical skills with a deep knowledge of the State.

·         Indian Nationality.

 

Computer skills: 

·         Good Computer skills in MS Office and internet.

 

Language skills:

·         Excellent communication skills in English and the official language of the State essential.
