Professional Details: 

I am an International Health and Development Specialist: Training background Bachelors in Human Medicine (1990); a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a Master of Science degree in International Health. Worked as HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming in Develpment and Humanitarian work expert (more than 10 years); Gender Expert (5 years), Program and Strategy evaluator (7 years), Program analyst (7 years), and Reserach work.  I have multi workplace skills training certificates in research methodology, quantitative and qualitative. I have more than 4 years of research survey and more than 10 years’ progressive experience in Complex Project Management, including Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact assessment, this has included Capacity Building of local partners. When I worked for Oxfam an International NGO, in the role of the Horn East and Central Africa Regional HIV Policy Coordinator, I worked with more than 200 CSOs, across 7 countries, building capacities in assessment of HIV/AIDS impacts on development, and designing responses that mitigate AIDS impacts. I also worked as Director – Regional Centre Quality Health Care, based at Makerere University School of Public Health, 2010-2011; these are types of work that necessitated team leadership and personnel management and supervision. I have good experience in research, including sample size determination, designing data collection tools and I have conducted surveys, and produced quality analytical reports that inform program design and next steps. In 2014, I worked as National Facilitator/ Director/Coordinator for UN REACH (Renewed Efforts Against Childhood hunger and Under Nutrition), and this work was mostly around analytics and capacity building, this included conducting National Surveys. I also supported UNAIDS and WFP in South Sudan in 2012, conducting National level assessment on integration of HIV in emergency response. I am very comfortable with information technology and databases; a demonstration of recent successful assignments I lead:

  • 2013: Consultant/Gender Expert: UNFPA/Uganda, 7th Country Program Evaluation, including design of tools, field data collection, writing report at international level
  • 2012: End Project Evaluation Team Leader for USAID/Uganda- Hospice Africa Programs on HIV/AIDS, this was National level work
  • 2012: HIV in Emergencies Assessment Team Leader for WFP/UNAIDS South Sudan
  • 2012: Evaluation Team Leader for ActionAid International-DRC and Burundi. Programs evaluated included Gender, and Women empowerment projects, sustainable livelihoods,
  • 2012: Project Director- Uganda AIDS Knowledge Management and Communication Centre, I worked with the team and was lead author for the synthesis reports on ending the vertical transmission of HIV in Uganda in line with the MDGs
  • 2011: Director: Makerere University African Centre of Excellence on Quality of Health Care, School of Public Health; covering East, Central and Southern Africa
  • 2010: Regional HIV Policy Advisor- Oxfam International, Horn East and Central Africa, wrote multi reports, technical reference materials, strategies and knowledge management reports
