The Communications Intern will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and outreach of the CTL, particularly in the lead-up to and during Global Green Growth Week (GGGWeek2025), COP30, and through our internal communications efforts. The intern will support the development and delivery of communication strategies that showcase CTL's work, highlighting its technical outputs, and promote the update of insights among audiences, including partners, donors, and the public. This includes contributing to content creation, social media engagement, and knowledge sharing efforts that help position CTL’s contributions within green growth and development conversations.

A core focus of the role will be in translating complex findings into clear, accessible and data-driven communication materials. The intern will help produce visual outputs that communicate CTL’s mission and results in ways that are compelling, easy to understand and aligned with GGGI’s outreach goals

Responsibilities :

  • Support the development of a communications plan for the CTL unit, in coordination with the CTL manager, team members and GGGI’s communications team.
  • Draft, edit, and publish content for CTL’s communication channels, including official website, social media posts, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Contribute to the preparation of case studies, success stories, and project highlights that illustrate CTL’s impact.
  • Assist in creating visual materials to communicate key messages and findings.
  • Schedule and manage posts on social media accounts, ensuring alignment with GGGI’s branding and messaging.
  • Monitor basic analytics and prepare short summaries to assess the performance of digital outreach campaigns and initiatives.
  • Support the promotion of CTL events and webinars by preparing announcements, speaker biographies and follow up with public outreach.
  • Conduct research on communications tools, formats and best practices relevant for effective communication.
  • Help maintain a shared and organized repository of communication materials and resources, such as templates, visuals, guidance notes and published outputs.
  • Support administrative tasks related to communication activities as needed.

Eligibility : 

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program (MA or Phd) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • For creative communications stream, skills, previous experience in or willingness to learn use of Adobe Creative Suite apps(s) or similar software, particularly on one or more of the following: page layout, infographic design, audio or video editing, data visualization, web or UX/UI design.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and multimedia production is an asset.
  • Proven computer literacy in standard office software applications skills, as well as willingness to learn new tools required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Passion for sustainable development and climate action.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds and time zones.
