ABOUT THE ROLE:
As Communications Manager you will identify opportunities to engage with the media, implement a pro-active multi-channel communications programme, undertake reputational crisis media work, and manage media plans around key events. You will develop profiles of key figures, support Amnesty International’s growth plans, pitch, and write content, and develop and implement an over-arching communications plan to position Amnesty’s work in the media.
With demonstrable experience in a similar role, you'll be well-versed in international human rights trends. You'll have extensive experience of promoting content on a wide range of platforms, and a strong knowledge of international media. You'll need to be an excellent communicator with sound judgment and reputational crisis management experience. Fluency in English is essential and knowledge of additional languages ideal. You'll show expertise and understanding in and of human rights and be able to align strategic thinking with operational delivery.
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they're denied. And whether we're applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we're all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all.
Our supporters are outraged by human rights abuses but inspired by hope for a better world - so we work to improve human rights through campaigning and international solidarity.
