The post holder will focus on humanitarian work in Africa, Asia and MENA ensuring we are driving forward, and measuring our contribution to the CARE International 2020 Programme Strategy. We will provide clear objectives, a supportive manager, your own learning and development budget and the opportunity to help drive forward high quality humanitarian programming and learning for people in the most need, in the most challenging contexts.
About the role
The post holder will work across the humanitarian programme portfolio to ensure that our work continually meets both internal core MEAL standards and relevant global commitments (e.g. Core Humanitarian Standards, SDGs). The post holder will provide technical support to specific humanitarian projects, ensuring that MEAL systems are exceptional especially in relation to larger projects exceeding GBP 10m. The post holder will be integral to driving forward CARE International policy objectives, as they will ensure that MEAL is designed in a way to support and advance CARE International learning, policy and advocacy. The post holder will support wider organisational learning to accelerate the quality of MEAL systems and standards.
You are an experienced humanitarian professional with field experience, a strong understanding of institutional funding and a good knowledge of our key donors' (DFID, ECHO, DEC, START) policies and practices.You have a range of experience working on large (>GBP 10m) programmes. You have a proven track record in driving forward long-term objectives and working with and through others to deliver results. You are able to communicate effectively and share learning and results with a range of audiences. You may have worked previously for a research organisation; certainly your technical skills are proven.
