Job Description

ADAPT, a non-profit organisation set up by Padmashree Dr. Mithu Alur in Mumbai, working in the disability sector for over 44 years, is looking to hire a Project Director for its services. The project will provide support to enable the employment of young adults with disability. This will be a centre for excellence that will build skills and capacity of young adults with disabilities, coordinate their placement in mainstream employment and provide a continuum of support to them and their employers.

Job Profile

• The Project Director will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the operation of the project under the guidance of the Chairperson.

• The Project Director will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the day to day functioning of the various Heads of Department under the project and of reviewing the performance of every resource to optimize productivity.

• Will be responsible to Implement Service Plans and policies and procedures.

• Under the guidance of the Chairperson, the Project Director will strategise for their placement and training in mainstream employment.

• Be responsible for presenting research findings through regular reports, briefings and presentations.

• Work with training heads to develop suitable modules for each department keeping in mind the capacity of individual beneficiaries.

• The Project Director will be responsible for monitoring various stages of the Project, and for overseeing and coordinating data collection, management and analysis.

• The Project Director will work in regular and systematic coordination with the Finance Director with regard to the utilisation of project funds.

A Masters degree with atleast 25 years experience in working in an NGO and especially with person with disabilities preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, working collaboratively with internal and external service providers are a pre requisite.
