Job Description

Main task:
 
  • Participates in the assessment and monitoring of humanitarian situation in the area as well as the general political/socio-economical/security situation
  • Assists in the implementation of activities linked to the protection of civilians and support to detention activities
  • Contributes to networking activities with various stakeholders including those from Caraga region
  • Promotes and disseminates the principles of international humanitarian law
  • Liaises with other ICRC departments for organization of specific events (i.e. IHL training, photo exhibit, etc.; links with the local media)
  • Coordinates with Philippine Red Cross (PRC) local chapters for joint activities
  • Prepares written reports on a periodic and project basis
  • Establishes and maintains contacts with various groups, including individual beneficiaries, humanitarian organizations and local authorities
  • Contributes to the formulation of objectives, plans of action and preparation of budgets
  • Travels regularly within the assigned areas
 
Required Profile:
 
Selection requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in public administration, social work, sociology or equivalent
  • 4-year work experience in a similar field or position
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, Tagalog, Cebuano and Bisaya
  • Good communication skills
  • Good computer skills (MS Office)
