5 Ways to Work from Home More Effectively

Dr. Prashant Deshmukh started his career in public health with practice in patient care in rural area of Marathwada region of Maharashtra. While treating patients in OPD, he believed more on Preventive health to minimize expenses on health. He sensitized patients and their relatives on health issues and educated rural population.
Professionally he started supporting Skilllshare International India in 2009 for ‘Community Health Program’ supported by DFID. This program has covered tribal area of Aurangabad district in Maharashtra. Dr. Prashant identified the youth volunteers in respective villages and trained them in health issues- especially Reproductive and Child Health and Communicable diseases. Apart from health issues, Dr. Prashant has been working on the rights of the community. He is supporting two remote villages in getting basic facilities like water, road and electricity through advocacy with respective departments at district and state level. While working with Skillshare International India, Dr. Prashant got opportunities to visit partner organizations in different states viz. Tamilnadu, Kerala, Orissa and Jharkhand. He utilized this exposure in studying the lifestyle and health behavior of communities in different regions.
During 2013-14, Dr Prashant supported Anganwadis in Urban Slum of Aurangabad, a joint initiative of Department of Women and Child Welfare, Aurangabad and Skillshare International, India. During this period he conducted trainings for Anganwadi workers on health indicators, counseling and good nutrition practices.
Dr. Prashant took the challenge to work in Kalahandi district of Orissa with local organization- Seba Jagat in July 2014. Under ‘Infant and Young Child Feeding and Maternal Nutrition’ program supported by UNICEF, he as a Technical Consultant- Nutrition, worked on Behavior Change Communication of Frontline Functionaries on nutritional and health practices. He worked closely with ICDS and Health department, Kalahandi for down trodden communities and successfully implemented the project.
As a Trainer and a Consultant in last 6 years, he has consulted NGOs on management of healthcare programs; conducted trainings on preventive health, reproductive health, maternal health and nutrition, etc. Dr. Prashant has successfully conducted various training programs and designed training content on various topics. Dr. Prashant is technically sound in making quality document and supported organizations in mapping the progress of projects. He worked on case studies, stories of change, review reports- annual and quarterly which were presented in annual and biannual meetings.

Academically, he holds the Master’s degree in Business Administration – Healthcare Services - 2011 from Sikkim Manipal University; Certificate in Food and Nutrition (IGNOU),2004 ; Diploma in Yoga Teacher(YCMOU) 2007 and Bachelor Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), 1997 from Amravati University.
