Dr Jan Edwards has experience in designing and implementing gender mainstreaming strategies in a number of cultural contexts including Indonesia, Cambodia, Nepal, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Laos, Vanuatu and the Philippines. She has experienced a high degree of success in her specialist areas, gender and inclusion. She has worked with donors including Australian Aid, International Labour Organisation, USAID, World Bank and Asian Development Bank. She has worked with NGO's PLAN International and Vision 2020. Jan works on issues of inclusion and her work addresses intersections of disadvantage (poverty, gender, disability, rurality, ethnicity etc).
Jan has just completed a second Masters degree, in Program Monitoring and Evaluation. Jan is interested in working in new locations, recently completing courses in Essentials of Humanitarian Practice and Personal Security and Communication offered by Red R Australia. She has expertise in conducting gender analyses and audits; gender and inclusion indicators; capacity needs assessments; data analysis (qualitative and quantitative); literature reviews; policy analysis and development and application of a number of M & E tools. Jan prefers mixed methods approaches to M & E design and implementation. She is interested in broadening her experience to the resources sector.
