Applications are now open for the Aboriginal Ranger Grants Program (ARGP) – Land & Sea Management Fund (LSMF).

Land & Sea Management Fund (LSMF) grant funding is available to Aboriginal organisations, including Ranger Groups, Land Councils and Aboriginal controlled incorporated associations that are registered or incorporated within the Northern Territory and which have a clearly identified role in land and sea management and conservation on Aboriginal land and seas.

Funding Information

  • Land and Sea Mangement Fund (LSMF) grant funding of up to $1.5 million is available in 2022-2023 under the Aboriginal Ranger Grants program.
  • Funding up to $6 million will be available over four financial years from 2021-22 to 2024-25.
  • Funding applications can be for one to three years, noting that funding will only be guaranteed for the period specified in the funding agreement.
  • Funding limits apply to applications: single year project maximum of $150,000 in grant funds, two year project maximum of $250,000 and three year project maximum of $350,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Funding is available to organisations only.
  • To be eligible for funding an organisation must
  • meet one of the following:
  • be incorporated under and compliant with the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act (Commonwealth)
  • be incorporated under and compliant with one of: the Associations Act (NT), the Corporations Act 2001, the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act (Commonwealth), any other Act of Parliament
  • if your organisation does not have legal standing, you must have an administering body that is incorporated under a relevant Act to take responsibility for administering, reporting and acquitting the grant on behalf of your organization
  • be physically located and actively operating in the NT
  • have adequately demonstrated that the grant will not duplicate funding already provided under this or other Northern Territory Government funding sources
  • have completed all required information in the application form and submitted required documentation in support of your application
  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • be registered for Goods and Services Tax if your organisation earns $75,000 or more per year
  • Types of organisations that are eligible for funding include
  • Aboriginal organisations, including Ranger Groups, Land Councils and Aboriginal incorporated associations that are registered or incorporated within the Northern Territory and which have a role in land & sea management on Aboriginal land & seas.
