The Shell Canada is offering grants to support community projects and initiatives that are located near the facilities and exploration interests throughout Canada.

Aims

The Shell Canada aim to be a good neighbour wherever they work and live, by contributing to the well-being of local communities throughout Canada. Shell provides support in a variety of forms including funding to not for profit and local community organizations, donations to charitable organizations and grants to employees, retirees and retailer/agents giving back to their communities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • At Shell Canada, they have social investment programs that support the communities around the operations as well as national programs that ​​provide lasting benefits to Canadians across the country. ​​
  • Shell Canada is proud to support a variety of initiatives that benefit the neighbours. The local funding includes the following communities:

Alberta

  • Grande Prairie and area, Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park and Bruderheim.
  • British Columbia
  • Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope and Tumbler Ridge.
  • Ontario
  • Sarnia, Lambton County, St. Clair, Corunna, Mooretown, Walpole Island, Kettle Point, Stoney Point Township and Brockville.

Ineligibility Criteria

  • Shell’s social investment program does not fund the following:
  • Operating expenses
  • Dues or memberships
  • Giveaways or prizes
  • Individuals or individual pursuits
  • Golf tournaments, hockey tournaments, tennis, fishing or other sporting tournaments
  • Sports – professional, recreational or minor sports teams
  • For-profit organizations
  • Trips, tours, and travel expenses
  • Third party fundraiser or fundraising events
  • Conferences, forums, trade shows, conventions, seminars (unless industry-related)
  • Religious causes that do not serve the general public on a non-denominational basis
  • Advertising, film, video, television and book productions

Private foundations

  • Fraternal and labour organizations/service clubs
  • Private (fee-based) elementary or secondary schools
  • Political parties or lobby groups
  • Projects where benefits occur outside Canada
