The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society by enhancing the quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works on Health, Education, Livelihood, Disability, and Disaster Relief interventions, with a focus on the rural and underdeveloped areas in the country.
One of the major projects of THF is to provide primary health services through Mobile Medical Units that run on Vans fabricated to cater the need for the same. The Hans Foundation works with the respective state governments and is currently running more than 300 such MMUs across 11 states, catering to the primary health needs mainly in rural areas and reaching out to more than 8000 villages. The foundation has already completed more than 3 million OPDs through these MMUs. All the services provided as mentioned above are free of cost. The vans are equipped with medical test facilities, medicine dispensation, and patient examination.
