IFA is an independent, nationwide, not-for-profit, organisation that makes grants and implements projects across practice, research and education in the arts and culture in India. Set up as a Public Charitable Trust in 1993, IFA started making grants and implementing projects in 1995. Since then, we have supported and implemented over 750 projects, disbursing over Rs 36.51 crore (USD 4.44 million) across the country. The outcomes of these projects—as books, films, performances, exhibitions, games, websites, and archival materials—have been circulating in the public domain through showcases, presentations, seminars, screenings, lecture demonstrations, and festivals, helping widen access and encouraging broader participation in the arts.
About the Proposal
India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) seeks to implement arts projects facilitated by teachers from government schools in Karnataka, for their schools. These projects have approvals from the Department of State Educational Research and Training, Karnataka.
The Arts Education programme. ‘Kali Kalisu’, is an effort to make learning a continuous and joyous process in schools, with the application of different art forms in curriculum-based teaching pedagogies. It is an aspiration to nurture a student-centered learning process with the integration of curriculum-based learning with creative approaches, that could build a strong relationship with the world outside a classroom and the students' lived experiences, through local stories, music, theatre, painting, folk, and other local art forms.
IFA is requesting project proposals that hope to form a solid foundation for art-integrated teaching pedagogies and encourage curiosity and creativity in students.
