The Health Resources and Services Administration has announced the opportunity to apply for funding under the Strengthen the Evidence for Maternal and Child Health Programs.

The purpose of this program is to increase the effective design, implementation, and monitoring of evidence-based or -informed strategies by Title V Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Services Block Grant programs in order to improve maternal and child health.

Goals

The goals of the program include:

  • Increased ability of Title V agencies to effectively design, implement, and monitor evidence-based or -informed strategies to improve MCH.
  • Increased number of National Performance Measure (NPM) goals achieved each year that contribute to meeting the goals of the Title V National Outcome Measures (NOMs).
  • Increased contribution to the evidence base from states and jurisdictions implementation of evidence-based or -informed strategies to improve MCH
  • Enhanced and increased publically available digital resources related to MCH.

  • City or township governments
  • Others
  • Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
  • For profit organizations other than small businesses
  • State governments
  • County governments
  • Special district governments
  • Independent school districts
  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
  • Small businesses
  • Any domestic public or private entity, including an Indian tribe or tribal organization is eligible to apply.
  • Domestic faith-based and community-based organizations are eligible to apply
