Is your community still recovering from the impacts of COVID? With the support of the Australian Government, Rebuilding Regional Communities (RRC) grants are available to not-for profits assisting remote, rural and regional communities to recover from, and adapt to, the impacts of COVID.
Applications that support community-led, place-based initiatives addressing at least one of these key program objectives will be considered:
Enhance the process of community recovery from COVID.
Reduce social isolation and foster stronger, more resilient communities.
Sustain local organisations and their work.
Funding Information
The SRC Rebuilding Regional Communities stream received grant funding from the Australian Government. This round, there is $950,000 available in grants across two funding tiers:
Grants up to $10,000, for communities with fewer than 50,000 people; and
Grants from $10,001 to $50,000 (offered twice a year until November 2023), for communities that are classified as remote, rural or regional as defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Australian Geography Standards.
Eligible Funds
A broad range of charitable projects are considered under this program, including:
Delivering, or providing activities, events, programs and services;
Purchasing or hiring equipment and materials;
Community infrastructure projects;
Organisational capacity building; and
Community resource development.
Eligible Projects
Supporting, training or attracting volunteers.
Events & activities to reconnect communities.
Enhancing community spaces to increase use.
Developing services and support for vulnerable people.
Purchase of equipment or resources.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
Applicant organisations must be a not-for-profit organisation with either an Incorporation Certificate and/or an ABN. If you are unsure if your organisation is a registered not-for-profit.
Project must be for charitable purposes and offer clear public benefit;
Not-for profit organisations with or without DGR-1 endorsement are eligible;
Organisations can submit one application per grant round; and
Projects must benefit communities in remote, rural or regional Australia.
