Reporting to the Head of Documents Access and Publication, the successful candidate will perform the following tasks:

  • Assess third party’s proposals for commercially confidential information and protected personal data (CCI/PPD) in the context of a requests to access documents in accordance with Regulation EC 1049/2001 and the Agency’s policy;
  • be accountable for identifying CCI and PPD in the absence of third party responses or in case of re-release of documents;
  • peer review of other ATD document managers’ assessments of third parties’ proposed redactions within set deadlines;
  • identify and locate documents when required and ensure these meet the requester’s requirements;
  • liaise directly with third parties in the context of the assessment of proposed redactions or to clarify requests to access documents;
  • assess CCI and PPD when EMA is consulted as a third party in the context of an ATD request received by partner organisations (European Commission [EC], national competent authorities [NCA], food and drug administration [FDA], etc.);
  • identify legal issues and escalate them to the Head of Service and to the Legal Department;
  • prepare internal and external guidance;
  • answer requests for information (RFIs) when applicable in line with the Agency’s practice;
  • perform other duties as required.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for consideration for this position, you are required to meet the following general and specific eligibility conditions:

  • enjoy full rights as a citizen of a European Union Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway;
  • possess a university degree in law, medicine, pharmacy or other life sciences, communication or related area (minimum 3 years) that must have been obtained by the closing date of this vacancy notice;
  • have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience after obtaining the relevant degree and before the closing date of this vacancy notice;
  • have a thorough knowledge of English (at least level C1) and a satisfactory knowledge of another official language of the European Union (at least level B2);
  • have fulfilled any obligations imposed by applicable laws concerning military service.
