Job Description

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented individual for the role of a Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for the accounts reconciliation, reporting of fixed assets, invoicing of receivables, encoding of accurate financial transaction in the system, and filing of documents of the Asia-Pacific area office and its overseas satellite offices. This position will be based out of HFHI's area office in Manila, Philippines.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting and Finance

  • Ensure compliance with month-end and year-end closing activities and timelines
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations; in case there is any discrepancy, unusual or long-outstanding item, suggest appropriate actions to resolve
  • Prepare invoices and follow up collection from other parties as necessary
  • Ensure accurate encoding of all financial transactions in Navision Accounting System
  • Monitor fixed assets list and report purchases and/or disposals to headquarters on a quarterly basis
  • Extract reports from the accounting system, tailored for various identified users
  • Ensure that financial-related transactions especially the vouchers, invoices, regulatory requirements, engagements/contracts are uploaded in the system for future reference and for audit trail

Administration & Compliance

  • Support the annual external audits of the Area Office & Satellite Offices
  • Participate in area finance group discussions, focused on implementation of finance policies and procedures
  • Contribute and support business process improvement initiatives

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 1-2 years of experience in the same role & responsibilities
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, CPA preferred
  • Experience in audit & internal control is an advantage
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and internal control
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Effective communication skills in a multicultural environment
  • Knowledge of local accounting / tax regulations and registrations requirements.

Beneficial but not required:

  • Experience in automated accounting system
