This position is housed in the Finance and Contracts Division, and reports to the Senior Accounting Manager for Finance and Accounting; within the Finance and Contracts Division.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Produce accurate and compliant consolidated accounting results for the company and its subsidiaries.
  • Improved AP, Payroll, GL and subsidiary reconciliations systems for the company.
  • Development of a training program for Accounting personnel and Creative staff in proper accounting practices and requirements.
  • Lead proactive and service-oriented responses to meet internal and external customer’s needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Accounting Manager will manage the Accounts Payable department and oversee the processing of Payroll transactions, subsidiary consolidations, and other related financial/accounting transactions. The position regularly interacts with Program Divisions, various Operations areas, General Managers of the company’s subsidiaries, and collaborates with the Contracts team.

  • Review transactions, prepare, and consolidate financial statements from subsidiaries in English and Spanish, including subsidiary intercompany accounts and loan balances.
  • Evaluate and improve if necessary Creative's established AP & Payroll policies and procedures;
  • Review and approve Accounts Payable and Employee Expense transactions, ensuring that proper documentation exists (i.e. authorized signatures, calculations, supporting backup in English and/or Spanish), prior to processing payments;
  • Process invoices into the financial reporting system, in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Create and maintain an Accounting training program for all company staff on all things regarding Accounts Payable, Payroll, etc.
  • Prepare and review various GL account reconciliations on monthly basis;
  • Review and analyze employee accounts receivables monthly;
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries on an as needed basis;
  • Assist (and shadow) the Senior Accounting Manager with Incurred Cost Submissions;
  • Assist with the firm’s independent auditors on accounting matters.
  • Acts as a deputy to the Senior Accounting Manager
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner;

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related field, or over 12 years of accounting experience without degree.
  • Must have experience with subsidiary accounting and financial statement consolidation;
  • Minimum seven (7) years of work experience in finance and accounting preferably for USAID funded programs.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized;
  • Must be able to work independently, and work on and complete multiple tasks;
  • Familiarity with GAAP, FAR, AIDAR, and US Government audits;
  • Must have experience with subsidiary accounting and financial statement consolidation;
  • Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics SL and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing;
  • Fluency in Spanish speaking and communication required;
  • Ability to review, analyze and problem-solve issues; able to provide recommendations and resolve issues for clients.
