UNOPS has purchased 568 types of medicines and annually executes more than 65 thousand operations. To date, AMEDIGSS has purchased 552 million doses of medicines, improving inventory supply levels by up to 90% in 118 IGSS hospitals nationwide. Thanks to the tenders carried out by the AMEDIGSS project in medicines and surgical medical material, savings of 270 million USD have been achieved, representing 58% less with respect to the prices paid by the IGSS in 2016, prior to the agreement with UNOPS. Consolidating the IGSS in a position of influential buyer in the national and international market.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the maintenance of the registration system that focuses on the achievement of the following results:
  • Opening files as needed, keeping them properly identified, stored and accessible.
  • Photocopy, scan documents, file them and manage them as appropriate and/or required.
  • Preparation and quality approval of delivery orders.
  • Supports and provides administrative support that is focused on achieving the following results: 
  • Support in drafting trades and follow-up emails.
  • Processing and review of payment records.
  • Follow-up of contractual management commitments with the supplier companies under their charge.
  • Accompaniment in the process of budget regularization to the Associate.

Education/Experience/Language requirements:

Education:

  • Degree at the diversified level (high school) is required. 
  • Studies at a technical level in the areas of Business Administration, International Relations, administration or other related careers will be valued. (You can substitute some years of experience required).
  • University degree in the aforementioned careers will be valued. (You can substitute some years of experience required).

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years (or less, depending on studies provided) of administrative and/or operational experience.
  • Ability to work with computer and office software packages (MS Office 2003 and/or newer versions) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
  • Will be valued :
  • Experience in management and payment processes and purchases.
  • Experience in relationship with suppliers.
  • Experience in organizations of the United Nations system or international organizations.

Languages:

  • Proficiency in the Spanish language (oral and written) is required. 
  • Knowledge of the English language will be valued.
