This position is based in New York and is located in the Human Resources Unit within the Business Support Section (BSS) of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund-Pension Administration. The incumbent reports to the Human Resources Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and organize Human Resources (HR) cloud files and documents.
  • Assist in recruitment processes, such as drafting vacancies and technical assessment.
  • Support in organizing interviews and meetings for Inspira processes.
  • Assist in drafting correspondence, reference verifications and tracking of selection processes.
  • Review of HR documentation and relevant data to ascertain conformity with pre-established criteria.
  • Ensure that documents submitted for processing electronically are retrieved and processed in time. 
  • Maintain HR files, update staff telephone directory, rules, regulations, administrative instructions and other related documentation.
  • Assist in updating Organizational chart and staffing table.
  • Prepare statistical tables and standard HR reports.
  •  Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for inforation sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
  • Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. 
  • Assist the Chief of Section with administrative support tasks.
  • Perform other related administrative duties, as required.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit, human resources or related area is required.
  • The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.   
  • Working experience using Microsoft Office 365 or related applications, including advance knowledge of Excel, is required.   
  • One year or more of experience in data and trend analytics and reporting is required.   
  • Experience in using talent management systems, in building job opening, screening candidate etc., is required.   
  • Knowledge in Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems, such as Umoja or equivalent, is desirable   
  • Relevant working experience in a pension institution is desirable.

Languages:

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
  • For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
