To ensure the proper functioning, servicing, and repair of electrical systems and generators at the facility, The Administrative Clerk is responsible for conducting routine inspections, carrying out basic electrical installations, troubleshooting generators, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all assigned equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical installations (lighting, wiring, switches, sockets, etc.).
  • Diagnose and fix minor electrical faults in buildings and outdoor facilities.
  • Replace or repair defective electrical components and ensure proper functioning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards during all electrical work.
  • Conduct routine servicing of generators (oil change, air/fuel filter replacement, battery checks, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot generator malfunctions and perform corrective actions.
  • Monitor generator performance and fuel levels regularly.
  • Keep records of generator usage, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests or reported faults.
  • Assist in installation or relocation of electrical appliances/equipment.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and report hazards or major faults to the supervisor.
  • Use appropriate tools for maintenance tasks and keep them in good condition.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of electrical supplies and spare parts.
  • Ensure proper storage and safekeeping of maintenance tools and materials.

Education:  

Completed Secondary Level Education required. 

Work Experience: 

  • Technical certificate in Electrical Installation, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in electrical and generator maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of generator types (diesel/petrol), operation, and safety standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience and knowledge with UN systems, especially UNFPA is an advantage.

 Skills:

  • Strong practical skills in electrical troubleshooting and generator maintenance.
  • Good understanding of safety procedures and hazard prevention.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Time management and ability to prioritize urgent repairs.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor or confined environments.

 Languages: 

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic or other official languages or the UN an asset.
