The Advocacy Officer (AO) will undertake research and advocacy work on the national and international affairs concerns of labor; undertake networking with partners, including coalition activities, prepare position papers, speeches, and press releases as necessary.
The Officer will be assigned to the National and International Affairs Division. Ideally the officer should be a “quick study” demonstrating capacity to absorb, analyze, and discuss policy, write-up advocacy concerns into papers and powerpoints, with well-honed presentation skills, and have the capacity to develop political networks.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Journalism, Development Communications, Communication Arts, Political Science or Economics. Those who have backgrounds in political campaigns, public relations and social marketing are also encouraged to apply.
