To address the situation created by the violence that followed the recent crisis, the CAR Government through the Ministry of Humanitarian Action and National Reconciliation (MAHRN), with the participation of the World Bank, launched the May 19, 2017, the project to support communities affected by the displacement of US $ 28 million. The project is being implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). The goal is to provide communities affected by forced displacement with better access to basic services, local infrastructure and social safety nets. The project promotes dialogue between host communities and displaced people in 4 cities and 2 neighborhoods of Bangui and promotes peaceful coexistence while allowing local and deconcentrated authorities to participate in the planning and maintenance of infrastructure and basic services. The UNOPS office in the Democratic Republic of Congo covers the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Burundi, Angola.
The office is constantly working to expand its activities to support its partners in the implementation of their development programs and projects. Based in the DRC since 1999, the office has diversified and strengthened its areas of expertise, contributing actively to sustainable development efforts in the field.
