Associate Infrastructure Engineer

Experience: 5 to 10 Years

Apply By: 25-02-2026

The World Bank Group Technology Office (ITSTO) defines and executes the technology strategy for the World Bank Group, ensuring that technological investments and standards deliver secure, resilient, and efficient platforms to support global operations.

Responsibilities  :

  • The candidate will combine storage/backup engineering and programming skills to build automated pipelines for provisioning, protection, recovery, replication, and lifecycle management across on-prem and AWS/Azure/OCI.
  • Work with on-premises storage (SAN/NAS/Object) and cloud-native storage/backup services to design standardized, secure, and scalable solutions.
  •  Use Python and at least one additional language (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, or Go) to develop automation pipelines, APIs/integrations, and validation tests for platform operations.
  • Implement infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred; CloudFormation/Bicep/OCI Resource Manager), CI/CD workflows (Git-based), and policy-driven guardrails for repeatable, compliant deployments.
  • Administer and operate Cohesity backup environments (on-prem and cloud), including policy design, immutability, ransomware protections, and recovery orchestration for hosts, databases, and cloud services.
  •  Maintain and optimize Pure Storage arrays (FlashArray/FlashBlade): provisioning, zoning, multipathing, snapshots/clones, replication, and performance tuning.
  •  Monitor performance and diagnose problems across storage/backup infrastructure; instrument observability (Splunk, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, OCI Logging) with dashboards, alerts, SLIs/SLOs, and automated reporting.
  • Design, document, and test disaster recovery (DR) plans and runbooks; conduct periodic DR exercises, capture results, remediate gaps, and report compliance posture.
  •  Handle escalation calls from the NOC, perform triage, resolve incidents/requests via ServiceNow; maintain high-quality documentation (drawings, spreadsheets, procedures, runbooks, KB articles).
  •  Lead moderate-to-large implementations, migrations, and platform upgrades; coordinate cross-functional delivery in a matrixed environment; provide capacity planning and cost optimization recommendations (tiering, deduplication, compression, lifecycle).

Requirements  :

  • Master's degree with 5 years relevant experience or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience is required.
  • Storage/Backup/recovery engineering experience is required.
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS, Azure, and OCI storage/data protection services (e.g., EBS/EFS/S3 with Object Lock; Azure Disks/Files/Blob; OCI Block/Object; snapshots, replication, lifecycle/tiering).
  • Cohesity administration and operations (policy design, protection groups, immutability, ransomware protection, recovery orchestration) across on-prem and cloud.
  • Pure Storage arrays (FlashArray/FlashBlade), SAN/NAS management, zoning/multipathing, performance tuning, snapshots/replication.
  • Infrastructure automation and IaC: Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation/Bicep/OCI Resource Manager; pipeline orchestration with Rundeck; configuration management with Chef/Ansible (or equivalents).
  • Programming proficiency in Python and at least one additional language (Bash, PowerShell, or Go); ability to design algorithms and automate recurring tasks with testable, maintainable code.
  • Strong Unix/Linux concepts; TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls; cloud networking (VPC/VNet/VCN), Direct Connect/ExpressRoute/FastConnect.
