The Chief, Financial Accounts and Reporting is responsible to ensure the day to day recordings of all of ICMP’s financial transactions. In so doing, all financial records are prepared in line with IFRS standards or IPSAS Standards. Under the overall guidance of the Director, Corporate Services the Chief, Financial Accounts and Reporting’s duties and responsibilities will include, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for the Accounting department’s workflow, implementation of accounting rules and procedures on the daily basis - based on IFRS or IPSAS
  • Monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual accounting reports (Managerial and Financial accounting statements) to Director CS, and the financial controller
  • Produce financial reports for ICMP’s Management as requested
  • Responsible to ensure ICMP bookkeeping by recording all payment claims, vouchers, third party claims, cash books imprests and invoices into various accounts in Excel sheets, Exact Financials, Finance software
  • Coordinate with A&F officers and assistants in regional and overseas offices pertaining to bookkeeping and financial matters and quality control of financial bookings made by the designated CS team members
  • Ensure Payroll booking and charges to appropriate journals, cost center, cost units and projects
  • Perform day-to-day accounting activities
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts in line with the monthly closure
  • Ensure cash transactions are utilised in accordance with ICMP’s policies on cash management
  • Assist in the Annual Budget preparation
  • Co-operate with Human Resources and Procurement
  • Other related duties as assigned


  • Post Secondary
  • A qualified CPA certification would be an advantage
  • Competent in various bookkeeping software packages, Competent in MS EXCEL, Vbasics and Power BI is a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Able to communicate complex financial results to non-financial manager
  • Ability to train and mentor other CS accounting officers
  • Ability to plan effectively to meet deadlines and achieve specified milestones
  • Ability to delegate and manage team members

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Proffesional fluency in English language both written and spoken
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken B/H/S
  • Other languages such as French, Dutch and Arabic would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Teams
  • Proven ability to interact positively with colleagues regardless of culture, nationality or gender
  • Ability to travel at short notice and to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Commitment to the underlying objective of helping the authorities and families of the missing to account for missing persons in an impartial and transparent manner
