We are looking for a CFO/Executive Director to lead the Department of Finance, Supply Chain and Risk (FRISC).

Who are we?

DRC has grown to become an international humanitarian organisation with more than 7,500 employees and 8,000 volunteers across 4 regions and more than 40 countries and with a turnover of more than DKK 3.5 bn. Our work covers all aspects of refugee issues based on humanitarian principles and human rights – we call it the full circle - “We are there”.

We work in conflict-affected areas, along displacement routes, and in countries where refugees settle. Our work is tailored to global needs and includes providing emergency relief, long-term durable solutions and strengthening the opportunity for a brighter future for refugees and displaced people.

A major objective for DRC is to further reinforce our position by enhancing the organization’s operational effectiveness and sustainability through world-class systems and processes.

About the job

The CFO will join an organisation, which is in the process of introducing several initiatives to further professionalise and strengthen the organisation. A particular emphasis has been given to data consistency and quality, transparency, and increased predictableness. The CFO will lead a complex, global and operative organisation, while motivating and engaging diverse and cross-cultural teams. The CFO will resume responsibility for a broad financial leadership position, which besides the classic CFO disciplines will include Supply Chain and Financial Risk. Altogether, the CFO will lead approx. 75 people distributed between 68 in the Finance organization and 7 in Supply Chain, as well as technical management for approx. 600 Finance and Supply Chain people who are located at a regional and country level.

The main objectives of the FRISC department are:  

  • Enabling the organisation to respond and make impact by providing technical advice, financial analytics and knowledge based on our data​​ 
  • Protecting our reputation by setting policies and procedures related to finance, procurement and risk that help the organisation deliver within our purpose and at the right level of risk, price and quality​​ 
  • Empowering DRC operations by ensuring and supporting efficient processes and clear guidelines related to financial transactions, procurement and risk profile

About you

  • Executive management experience: You are a highly experienced leader, who can develop and implement strategies that enable us to meet our goals. You have a proven track record of driving major changes, while having a solid financial understanding and excellent overview of the different income models and possible risk scenarios. You thrive on leading diverse and cross-cultural teams and can effectively build up organisational and individual capacity, benefitting from your innovative mindset.
