Plan International will be implementing a project titled “Reducing risks through integrated community-based disaster preparedness, protection, and WASH interventions in Central Mindanao, Philippines” that intends to contribute to enabling boys, girls, young men and young women and their families and communities to prepare themselves for emergencies, realize their rights to protection from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation, and are able to perform sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene practices through appropriate prevention and response interventions.

In this regard, PLAN International Philippines invites highly competent, experienced and committed professionals to fill the following position:


The Child Protection Specialist provides technical support in planning and implementation of Child Protection Program in the project areas. He/she is accountable for the quality of the program in the project areas and responsible for coordinating activities of Child Protection Program including the systems of quality control, monitoring; and evaluation and integration of other programs. He/she provides technical support in institutionalizing Child Protection Policy. This role will be based in Maguindanao, Philippines.

Some of the other key responsibilities are 1.) review and analyze relevant baseline survey results on Child Protection, information and research works at local, regional and national levels, 2.) review and provide inputs on reports and documents from the project prior submission to the country office and other requesting partner offices, 3.) conduct Mindanao area network meetings for consultation, shared learning, and continuing  education on child protection, and 4.) ensure proper documentation of implementation processes of the project.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or other related courses. Registered Social Worker preferred.
  • Has relevant knowledge and skills in community-based Child Protection system, project management, case management.
  • Has at least five (5) years’ experience in implementing Child Protection programs, three (3) years of which in the community development sector doing research, planning, developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating child protection programs.
  • Has relevant knowledge of Child Protection Issues and programs in the Philippines or systems of other countries
  • Has good command of oral and written communication.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the Philippines without restrictions. Local applicants are preferred.
