The United Nations Environment Program (UN Environment) is the world's leading environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system, and serves as a authorized global environmental advocate.
The United Nations Regional Environment Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (ROLAC), located in Panama City, works closely with the 33 countries of the region, including 16 small island developing States, with a population of approximately 588 million people. The office works to meet the needs of the region and its activities are integrated into the work programs approved by the United Nations Environment Assembly of UN Environment.
The entire recruitment and selection process is a service provided by UNOPS to the UNEP Agency under the support of the Global Cooperation Agreement between both agencies. The selection and supervision of personnel is the direct responsibility of UNEP.
In order to guarantee the long-term sustainability of the interventions, in addition to institutional strengthening and incentive programs, the project will develop a strategy and a comprehensive and interactive knowledge management plan that seeks to consolidate technical knowledge and public opinion on the actions proposed by the Government through the ENBCS.
For this, the project requires the support of a Communication Assistant to develop a communication strategy and support the knowledge management plan.
Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Communications Assistant will perform the following functions:
