Since 1997, UNOPS began its operations in Guatemala in order to support the efforts prior to the signing of the peace agreement and subsequently, following that initiative, provided support to the || Commission for Historical Clarification. Likewise, it has participated in boosting the local economy, by carrying out productive projects; In 2000, it focused on providing assistance to the Government of Guatemala, offering advisory services, project implementation, and transactional services. In the last 24 years, it has contributed in the following areas: culture, sports, recreation, justice, governance, health, education, tax collection, decentralization of services, environment, water and sanitation, institutional strengthening and infrastructure.
Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Communications and Partnerships Specialist in Guatemala, the Communications Associate (Partnerships) is responsible for supporting the execution of communication actions and strategic alliances in favor of projects in Guatemala. You will have the following key responsibilities :
Strategic positioning of UNOPS in Guatemala and Latin America
In coordination with the Communications and Partnerships Specialist: will support the necessary actions for the implementation of the Communication and Partnerships Strategy in Guatemala, staying aligned with UNOPS regional and global priorities.
Support to keep the stakeholder mapping updated and feed the databases.
Support the monitoring of media and social networks that may influence UNOPS activities in the country.
Support in the research and management of potential collaboration opportunities with government partners, international financial organizations, academia, among others.
Support in the preparation of information for reports and talking points for the meetings of the Communications and Partnership Specialist and / or the Country Director.
Support the execution of activities that have an impact at the regional and global level, through close coordination with the UNOPS regional office.
