UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.
Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.
And we never give up.
Background & Rationale
Problems that go unmeasured often go unsolved and we believe that smart demand, supply and use of data drives better results for children. When the right data are in the right hands at the right time, decisions can be better informed, more equitable, and more likely to protect children’s rights. To further this objective and to increase the accessibility of data for children, the section is spearheading the creation of a data visualization hub which facilitates the use of data for advocacy, actionable insights and evidence.
Purpose
As an integral part of the data hub, you will create effective visualizations such as dashboards and other related products to drive insights, to make our stories more compelling, to drive change and ultimately create value for children. You will have a passion for data visualization and a portfolio which demonstrates technical skills paired with a strong design aesthetic. The position will report to the Data Visualization and Communication Specialist in the Data Architecture and Communication Unit, but closely interface with Statistics Specialists in the Data Analysis and Innovation Unit as well as thematic experts in the Programme Division.
