Job Description

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior Government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders.

Project Brief:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to the current project deals with modifying and adapting an intervention for self-harm in youth. In the second phase of the project, the intervention effect on self-harm will be compared against a control group. The research is based in Mumbai.

Deliverables:

  • Liaise with the collaborating hospitals at the research site in Mumbai where the researcher will be based.
  • Facilitate recruitment of the patients for the study.
  • Help in organizing the focused group discussions.
  • Managing the data.
  • Organization and participation in the feedback sessions for the community and the stakeholders.
  • Undertake such other relevant duties as assigned by PI.

Qualification:

Essential: Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology or social work.

Desirable

  • Candidates who are pursuing masters by correspondence are welcome to apply.
  • Proficiency in MS office, n-vivo, statistical tools such as SPSS.

Experience:

Desirable

  • Work experience with adolescents and young adults.
  • Experience with working in clinical setting such as hospital.
