Thinking of a Career in Emergency Management?
- BY Nicole Pelette
Hivos Southeast Asia and partners have been working to promote and push the implementation of open contracting in Indonesia. We conduct several baseline researches to document the current levels of openness, transparency, and accountability in public contracting and service delivery in the country, including the opportunities and challenges. Additionally, we also empower local civil society organizations and women-led groups to harness public information related to education and health services, and advocate for a gender-responsive and inclusive budgeting. This not only promotes participation but also positions the citizens, particularly women, as agents of public service improvement.
To realize said goal, we need to make sure that the citizens, including women, understand the context and importance of gender responsive planning and budgeting and open contracting initiative in the public service sector. Therefore, we collaborate with our partners to publish our advocacy guideline on gender responsive planning and budgeting for citizens.
The guideline contains a variety of information about gender, policies related to gender responsive planning and budgeting (GRPB), and its advocacy strategies. The creation of this knowledge product will help the citizens comprehend the importance of GRPB so they can supervise and advocate for their rights.
Hivos Southeast Asia understands that it is necessary to present the guideline in a more visually appealing format, not only to catch our audience’s eyes but also make it easier for them to grasp the information presented. Consequently, we need to design and layout our guideline, and hire a graphic designer consultant.
