ZOA is a Christian international NGO which offers RELIEF to people who are affected by conflict or natural disasters. ZOA wants to contribute to a new perspective of HOPE in which people work together for a promising future in dignity and mutual trust. Together with the affected communities we work on the RECOVERY until they can provide to take care of their livelihoods. The work of ZOA is coordinated from Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. From Apeldoorn operates ZOA in multiple countries in Africa, Middle East Region and Asia. ZOA works approximately with 1000 employees worldwide.
ZOA is looking for a
Country Director Afghanistan
According to its mandate ZOA is assisting people in Afghanistan, who are victims of conflict and disasters. This includes WASH, livelihood, and Shelter projects for IDPs in Jawzjan, Sar-e Pul, Balkh, Uruzgan, and Zabul provinces, and similar projects for Returnees from Pakistan in the province of Nangarhar. There are a number of smaller helping farmers with agriculture improvement, women in prison, and women in self-help groups. Recently water and livelihood support is also given to families who suffer from the 2017/2018 drought.
ZOA has a total of 130 employees (3 expats), with main offices in Kabul and Sheberghan. Field staff works out of sub-offices in the above mentioned provinces. ZOA Afghanistan staff is self-implementing projects in the North, while partnering with 2 local organizations in Zabul and Nangarhar.
The Country Director is responsible for the programmes and activities of ZOA in Afghanistan within the framework of ZOA’s Policy- and Business Plan and agreed Country Annual Plan.
