Job Description


As part of the activities of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) and the UNESCO Cities Platform (UCP), the Creative Cities Secretariat is developing a series of programs that are an integral part of the network knowledge. To this end, several contents directly related to the activities to be carried out require the support of a consultant to be listed, analyzed and condensed into reports as the program progresses.

Under the authority of the Head of the Communication, Cities and Events Unit and the supervision of the project administrator on the network of Creative Cities in the Culture Sector of UNESCO (UCCN).

Review and analyze the documents required for the call for applications for the host city of the Network's Annual Conference as well as around twenty periodic activity reports (20) from cities on the implementation of the network's objectives to be submitted before the December 31, 2020.
Revise and finalize the Creative Cities Network brochure for distribution by December 31, 2020 at the latest and build a database listing the main experts involved in Creative Cities Network activities around the world.
Produce concept notes and background papers on the activities carried out within the Creative Cities Network (including Cities meetings and initiatives) and propose a set of recommendations for the successful implementation of the Cities Network objectives creative.
Contribute to the development of communication supports and materials on the Creative Cities network which present information on the main meetings and events organized around the world by proposing appropriate content and language elements which will serve as the basis for the communication policy of the network of creative cities.

  • University degree equivalent or superior to a Masters in the field of international relations or in a similar field.


  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience at the international level in research and analysis of cultural programs and good knowledge of urban issues and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Experience in communication and knowledge management and development systems.


  • Fluency in French or English and good knowledge of the second language.
