Job Description


  • Lead a discussion with Mayday Executive Team to prioritize business risks and objectives related to cybersecurity. (1 day)
  • Conduct a risk assessment of Mayday’s information and cyber security practices, including activities related to access control, change management, data backup & recovery, mobile device management, security management, software development, system operations, etc. (6-8 days to include Amsterdam and Istanbul)
  • Determine technical and business impacts of identified gaps in the organization's cybersecurity practices. (1-2 days)
  • Produce a formal report outlining the conclusions and recommendations of the cybersecurity risk assessment. (1-2 days)
  • Communicate results of risk assessment to Mayday Executive Team, IT team, and technical experts (1/2 day)
  • Advise Mayday leadership on the prioritization and execution of risk management and remediation efforts (1/2 day)
  • Begin direct implementation of programs within client organizations to facilitate ongoing management of cybersecurity risks. (5 days)
  • Develop and provide training to key Mayday staff on urgent/immediate IT security changes that must take place (5 days)
  • Draft new written IT security standard procedures for use in Mayday (3)
  • Work with Mayday’s IT and procurement team to start procurement process for required cyber security upgrades resulting from the assessment and recommendations. (3 days)
  • All recommendations must meet or exceed the standards of the UK National Cyber Security Centre Cyber Essentials Scheme
  • Data protection elements should be benchmarked to meet the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Total possible days: 25-30 work days



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, or related field


  • 5+ year(s) of relevant consulting or industry experience
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of large scale information technology systems, business processes, security regulatory risk management and security vulnerabilities
  • Experience in one or more of the following information security domains:
  • Security Risk Management
  • Privacy and Data Protection
  • Network Security Operations
  • Security Architectures
  • Cyber Regulations, Standards, Policies and Procedures
  • Preferred:
  • Previous consulting experience
  • Understanding of fundamental cloud computing concepts
  • Experience with open source data analytics and investigation

Skills and abilities:

  • Proficiency in English required. Arabic language skills strongly desirable.
