The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB Group) is the leading source of development finance for Latin America and the Caribbean. The Group comprises the IDB, which works with governments; IDB Invest, which works with the private sector; and IDB Lab, the innovation lab of the IDB.

The Communications Division (DCC) of the Knowledge, Innovation and Communications Sector (KIC) uses digital intelligence, data, and creativity to help position the IDB Group as the preferred partner for development in the region. DCC works with traditional and digital channels to help give visibility to stories of impact in the region.

What you’ll do:

DCC is seeking a Digital Communications Strategist Consultant to develop and manage digital transmedia strategies that contribute to achieve overall communication goals by providing expert advice and day to day execution with the internal team.

The consultant will work under the supervision of the Digital & Engagement Cluster Lead in the Communications Division. She/He will then provide oversight to its implementation with other Digital Cluster colleagues and sector/country communicators, guaranteeing effective execution:

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the IDB Sectors/Country Departments’ business objectives, strategies, and their competitive landscape.
  • Work with communicators to define digital communication objectives and set up KPIs to track SMART goals.
  • Advise on digital and transmedia opportunities.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of projects, including communication briefings, scope, and project management with the digital production team.
  • Analyze effectiveness of digital and transmedia campaigns.
  • Prepare and present reports on their progress.
  • Keep abreast of new trends in digital and transmedia communications.
  • Develop solid working relationships and seek high professional and ethical standards.

What you’ll need:


  • You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.


  • You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.


  • Bachelor’s degree or certifications in Communications, Marketing, Multimedia, Digital Marketing, Inbound Marketing, Marketing Cloud, Social Media Ads or another related digital communications field


  • At least 2 years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience in multimedia, Inbound Marketing, Marketing Cloud, Social Media Ads, or another related digital communications field.


  • Proficiency of English and Spanish (Portuguese proficiency is also desirable).
