The primary role of the Director, Educational Partnerships is to grow the WE Schools program and bring in new schools and educators into our program in Baltimore and the surrounding area. This position will focus on building partnerships with new educational communities and on overseeing those partnerships once closed. The Director will support the WE Schools Global Heads and WE Charity's Executive Director to ensure attainment of the organizational priorities and strategic imperatives.

The position is based out of Baltimore or the surrounding area.
Establish a strong reputation for WE in the education community in Maryland (as a primary focus) and Washington, DC and Northern Virginia (as a secondary focus)
Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with key organizations and people in the city and state – especially school districts, school boards, and superintendents, but also non-profit and community organizations, teachers unions, school principals, teachers, guidance counselors, service-learning coordinators, and key influencers in the education sector and in the city at large.
Stewardship of state and local school districts
Direct school and teacher outreach to bring them into the WE Schools program
Support WE Schools Program development and delivery
Shared leadership of the WE Schools Program in the region
This dynamic role is a front-facing position that attends conferences and meetings to talk about the work of the WE Schools Program and to forge new partnerships.
Responsible for developing a growth strategy where positive results will be obtained and or surpassed.
Stewardship of School Districts/Divisions:
Meet with high-level stakeholders at the District level to seek synergies with WE Schools programs and outcomes
Ensure the partnership agreements are maintained and the outcomes agreed on are met
Guide team in analyzing health of relationships using customer relations technology to monitor activity, track progress of partnerships and project future commitments
Leadership of WE Schools Program Development and Delivery
Represent WE Schools team in meetings and strategy development
Monitor quality and performance of team members providing timely resources, supports and materials to ensure success
Clearly communicate priorities, objectives and expectations to team
What you bring:
Education and Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience – ideally through some combination of experience in education, community organizing, and/or government relations. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree and / or possess a diploma or certificate in education, project management, business or equivalent education. Experience working with schools and/or school administrative bodies and / or youth as well as managing people in a large team, including mentoring, motivating and monitoring performance considered key assets.
Knowledge and Expertise: Demonstrated passion for education and strong understanding of the American education system, the Maryland education system and the City of Baltimore, and government relations.
Technical Skills: Possess a strong related technical language and knowledge, ideally with some proficiency in Customer Relationship Management software and Microsoft Office.
Communication Skills: Excellent writing skills, with experience writing strategic plans, program reports and proposals. Excellent communication skills, with ability to represent the organization to external stakeholders as well as to work with senior level management to deliver on vision and key outcomes for the organization.
Other Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and inter-personal skills. Able to work well independently as well within a team setting. Self-motivated, independent and strategic thinker. Ability to multi–task, work well under pressure and changing deadlines with the ability to set priorities accordingly. Strong organizational skills. Positive and professional attitude. Reliable work ethic and dedication.
