The Human Resources team contributes to Oxfam’s organisational effectiveness to enable us to end the injustice of poverty. Our aim is to support Oxfam to deliver our mission, whilst ensuring organisational health, and supporting the wellbeing of Oxfam’s staff and volunteers.
Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, The Employee Relations Advisor will be responsible for:
- Providing specialist advice and support on interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures (worldwide).
- Providing practical operational support and advice on investigations and the management of more complex HR casework worldwide.
- Advising and supporting research and development of employment policy changes.
- Assisting in cross-divisional HR forums for information sharing, organisational learning, personal development and HR Policy development.
- Providing sound legislative employment and labour law advice worldwide ensuring all advice complies with legislation and is in line with Oxfam’s specific policies and processes.
- Monitoring cases relating to HR that come in via the Whistleblowing helpline including PSEA casework.
What we are looking for
- A holder of a UK Employment Law or Human Resources (CIPD) qualification (or relevant HR Advisor level experience)
- Demonstrable understanding of basic financial awareness and how business works, ensuring resources are used economically.
- Experience of delivering suitable HR practices in a professional, responsible accessible and value for money way
- The ideal candidate will be open minded with regards to change processes within an organisation and will demonstrate a positive attitude to change
- An individual with excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to build trust with colleagues to promote organisation success.
- Excellent knowledge of UK Employment Law legislation
- Good organisational planning skills and a logical and clear approach to work load Management.
