Job Description


Placed under the supervision of the head of the thematic expertise and advocacy division, your mission is to monitor the implementation of the objectives defined on the thematic environmental health in its operational and political dimension.

Your main missions are:

  • Follow-up of the association's strategic orientations
  • Contribute to the organization and co-facilitation of discussions of the thematic environmental health group (space for reflection, exchange and joint thematic strategy) alongside leaders of associative groups
  • Manage the evolution of MdM's positioning and global strategy and contribute to its dissemination and appropriation within the association in conjunction with group leaders and thematic referents to the board of directors
  • Ensure, in close collaboration with the thematic group and the operational departments, the development of a global France / International strategy on the theme
  • Make the link with the other technical referents to ensure consistency and transversality between the themes and transversal approaches
  • Organize an annual review of the advances in the implementation of the environmental health theme in these different areas and territories
  • Participate in the construction and budget monitoring on the theme, in conjunction with the head of the thematic expertise and advocacy pole

Technical support and support for operational teams

  • Manage the production and updating of operational framework documents on the theme
  • Support operational centers in the design, development and implementation of their projects on the theme in their health dimensions and advocacy in accordance with validated strategic directions
  • Respond to requests for technical support in connection with the operational poles France and International and the other poles of the DSP
  • Develop and make available suitable tools for project teams. For France programs, identify support needs in close collaboration with the "poorly housed" project manager to offer coordinated and complementary support
  • Participate in monitoring development, operational research and capitalization and modeling of experiences in environmental health projects
  • Provide ad hoc support for thematic funding research and proofreading of financial proposals from donors

Skills building

  • Participate in the identification of the training needs of the teams on the different axes of the thematic
  • Contribute to the development of a global and coherent training logic for all MdM fields
  • Identify external actors who can participate in strengthening team skills
  • Encourage exchanges of practices between projects

Advocacy and representation

  • In collaboration with group leaders and people concerned in the France and International sector, contribute to the conceptualization of the overall advocacy framework
  • Develop and lead MdM's participation in certain networks of regional and global players on both technical and political issues
  • Represent MdM with different authorities, institutions and at conferences with a view to promoting our expertise and relaying our advocacy messages
  • Work with the communication department to set up communication tools on environmental health


  • Ensure the monitoring and sharing of news and issues on the theme in a global manner and be proactive in supporting any strategic developments


  • The position involves trips to the field in France and abroad as well as punctual work on weekends or evenings.
  • Equivalent to the 13th month paid in 2 installments - from 6 months of effective seniority of work
  • Mutual (participation in 60% of MdM and 40% of the employee)
  • 22.5 RTT / year
  • 5 weeks of paid vacation / year

  • Diploma of health professional or training in public health, more specifically in environmental health
  • Field experience in NGOs and confirmed knowledge or experience of the environmental health theme in its operational and political dimension
  • Significant experience in project management
  • Experience in health promotion or Community health and advocacy would be a plus
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, employee and volunteer
  • Ability to transmit MdM values ​​and positions
  • Ability to develop a global strategy on the theme
  • Ability to understand and analyze a health context, health issues and health data
  • Proficiency in health promotion procedures
  • Ability to lead a collective reflection
  • Ability to create and develop a network of professionals in the thematic area
  • Proficiency in office automation tools
  • Languages: fluent French and English both written and spoken are essential. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
