The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is mandated to lead and coordinateinternational action to protect and assist refugees and other persons of concern (POC).
Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) sits within UNHCR's Division of External Relations (DER) and is responsible for mobilizing resources from the private sector for refugees and POC. UNHCR has developed a Private Sector Fundraising Strategy focusing on both Individual Giving and Private Philanthropy, identifying priority fundraising markets and regions.
Event Coordination Assistant will provide support in gaining and securing event spaces for the F2F fundraising teams to conduct their duty and help expand opportunity to raise funds such as Door to Door and Business to Business areas. In addition, the staff will provide administrative support and fundraiser recruitment of In-House Face to Face and Tele-fundraising programmes to grow and expand programmes to achieve the goal in generating sustainable income for UNHCR Thailand Multi-Country Office.
Purpose and Scope of Assignment:
  • Secure event sites (outdoor and indoor) for short term and long term partnerships for F2Ffundraising booths.
  • Maintain and develop relationship with new and existing location providers to ensure UNHCRhas event spaces for the teams.
  • Secure team building and training spaces for the teams.
  • Explore the opportunity to expand F2F fundraising into new territories such as Door to Door.
  • Survey, contact and build good relationship with venue management staff of an event site
  • Plan, organize, and monitor event schedule and results on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Analyze and improve the performance of the locations and teams.
  • Coordinate UNHCR event plans with the outsourced face to face fundraising agencies.
  • Manage administrative work in areas of event management; sending proposal, confirmationletter, thank you message and necessary actions.
  • Provide any other duties as required by the supervisor
  • Fundraiser Recruitment and Administrative Support
  • Provide administrative support to the recruitment of In-house F2F and Tele-fundraising fundraisers.
  • Conduct active recruitment approaches to find the potential fundraisers.
  • Support the implementation of fundraiser retention activities.

Monitoring and Progress Controls:
  • Monitoring in supervision of Associate PSP Officer
  • Summary meeting on weekly basis
  • Main KPI of number event is to match with the project head count; Five fundraisers per one event site (8 hours)
  • The programmes achieve their target for Event and Recruitment
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)
  • Hight school diploma or Bachelor degree in any related field
Work Experience:
  • No experience or experience related to event management preferably in direct sales or F2F marketing is an asset.
