The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) is a member of the World Bank Group, and our mission is to promote foreign direct investment into developing countries to help end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity. We do that through the provision of political risk insurance and credit enhancement to investors and lenders against losses caused by noncommercial risks.
MIGA Controllers, which is part of MIGA’s Finance and Risk Management Group (MIGFR), is responsible for overseeing MIGA’s financial integrity, income sustainability, and balance sheet optimization through the management and oversight of MIGA’s accounting, financial reporting and control function, asset management and cost efficiency optimization. MIGFR is also accountable for portfolio risk management, State Owned Enterprise (SOE) counterparty risk assessment, reinsurance and syndications program, budget, and information technology strategy and plans, and systems.
MIGA’s Controllers team is responsible for a range of control functions including (1) MIGA’s Accounting and Financial Reporting, (2) Budget Management and Performance Reporting and (3) Monitoring Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting, and (4) Operational Risk Management functions.
