Job Description

The West Africa and Middle East Regional Office (WAMERO) is seeking a Finance Intern to support our portfolio's financial backstopping. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Financial Monitoring: run financial reports from FHI 360’s accounting system and assist in monitoring the financial performance of WAMERO projects. Analyze data from financial reports.
First review of sub-award invoices, procurements, monthly expenditure reports, and cost share for compliance with US government and FHI 360 rules and regulations.
Review payment vouchers from FHI 360’s project offices for compliance with US government and FHI 360 rules and regulations.
The ideal candidate will start as soon as possible and be available full-time through September 2019.

Education: Associate’s Degree or its International Equivalent in a Related Field.


  • Typically requires 0-2 years of college experience in a related field of study.
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to speak a foreign language is a plus.
  • Prior work experience in a non- governmental organization (NGO).

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Typical office environment.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 5-50 lbs.
