Thinking of a Career in Emergency Management?
- BY Nicole Pelette
Are you a finance professional who likes to see the impact of your work? Are you good at translating your technical skills into plain language for colleagues from other disciplines? Would you enjoy the variety of working in a dynamic and growing organisation? Elrha is seeking a Finance Officer who will hold a central role in our transactional processing, financial record-keeping, and monthly budgeting and reporting.
We’re a global charity, working to find solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We fund and support work that goes on to shape the way in which people across the world are supported during a crisis.
We are based in London and Cardiff but our roles have a global reach. As an established and respected part of the humanitarian community, we work closely and meaningfully with our fellow networks and actors to make change happen.
You will be a trained accountant or bookkeeper with strong technical skills and the ability to translate these skills into working successfully with non-financial specialists. Your excellent organisational skills and attention to detail will enable you to uphold high standards of accuracy across a wide range of tasks without losing track of deadlines, and to contribute to further improvements to processes and controls as appropriate. You will have existing experience of finance systems and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Ideally, you will have experience of working in the charity sector and understand the particular requirements that relate to the management of restricted funds and reporting to institutional donors. Experience of working with budgets and financial management information, negotiating with internal stakeholders, and working in an environment with shifting priorities and evolving job responsibilities, would also be an advantage.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to an organisation that creates positive change in the humanitarian sector. We look forward to hearing from you.
We are committed to the safeguarding and protection of vulnerable people in our work. This post is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.
