TRAFFIC is the leading non-governmental organization working globally on trade in wild animals and plants in the context of both biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
TRAFFIC International is a charity and limited company registered in the UK. TRAFFIC’s head office, based in Cambridge UK, provides worldwide leadership, coordination, cross-regional and corporate functions. TRAFFIC’s local engagement is managed through programme offices operating under the auspices of the UK charity, with staff based in a hub office and at other strategic locations where necessary. Programme offices operate within a geographic area of responsibility focused on one or multiple countries where TRAFFIC aims to help deliver priority programme outcomes. TRAFFIC works in strategic alliance with IUCN and WWF on wildlife trade issues.
Characteristic Duties:
The role is supporting successful introduction of the new finance system Aqilla, including preparing and checking data, system configuration tasks, engagement with stakeholders and training provided during implementation phase as well as post-implementation.
Reporting to and working closely with the project leader - Finance Systems and Reporting Manager.
Specific Duties:
Preparing data loads of existing records onto the new system, Aqilla
Supporting work on balances transferred onto the new system and data cleansing
Supporting testing of the integrity of reports from the new system
General trouble shooting
Carrying out system configuration tasks
Development of test scripts for User Acceptance Testing on all aspects of the system
Creation of training materials
Supporting the update of TRAFFIC Financial Policies and Procedures Manau in the light of changes brought about by Aqilla's implementation
Supporting the development of revised procedures & accompanying workflows in the light of changes brought about by Aqilla's implementation
Delivering training for TRAFFIC users on Aqilla
Providing post implementation support for TRAFFIC
Occasional backfill of TRAFFIC staff temporarily seconded to the TRAFFIC implementation.
Ad hoc duties as required
Requirements:
Solid finance background and understanding of financial reports
Experience in finance / ERP system implementation
Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel and strong competence in data analysis and manipulation
Can-do attitude, flexibility and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to be proactive in prioritising own workload to meet deadlines.
