The Financial Control Assistant will undertake a variety of accounting duties; carry out administrative functions, as required; maintain and update accounting records; maintain sound accounting/internal controls; prepare accounting and other reports; and as relevant, contribute towards the preparation of financial statements. The incumbent will report to designated International Staff and senior National Staff. Responsibilities:
Contributes to the preparation of financial statements and prepares various accounting schedules to support the financial reports.
Maintains and ensures appropriate, adequate, and timely controls in the preparation of accounting data, processing of transactions loan, guarantees, equity investments and treasury products. Reviews and verifies the accuracy, consistency, and propriety of supporting documents in compliance with accounting practices, established procedures, and guidelines.
Provides assistance in the reconciliation and resolution of assigned accounts.
Ensures the maintenance and update of records/reports relating to ADB policies in connection to accounting procedures and guidelines and establishes an existing framework for easy retrieval.
Participates in the implementation of new systems or enhancements of existing systems; ensures the accuracy and reliability of systems; provides suggestions for enhancements/simplifications for effective and efficient operation; proposes changes to existing systems and coordinates the needs of the work area with the Information Technology Department (ITD) through the supervisor or International Staff in charge.
Coordinates and obtains/provides required information in accordance with established procedures in a tactful manner.
Performs any other assignments as required and reflected in the incumbent’s workplan.
