TEAM PURPOSE:The purpose of the Programme Strategy & Impact Team (PSIT) is:
Strategic analysis and direction: To provide high quality advice, analysis of external trends, and synthesis of learning from our programmes to help the organisation make strategic programme, policy and campaign choices.
Learning and knowledge management: To facilitate learning and knowledge management across our programme, Oxfam International, with partners and external organisations, through peer support networks, Centres of Learning, and a Programme Resource Centre, and support the wider organisation in accessing learning from our programme.
Programme quality and accountability: To support effective programme planning, monitoring and evaluation systems. To provide analysis and synthesis of programme information to enhance programme quality and institutional accountability.
Influencing policies and practices: To work with others to influence development and humanitarian policies and practices, including our own, based on learning from programme experience.
Provide strategic leadership to Oxfam’s work on gender justice in fragile and conflict-affected contexts by driving thought leadership, contributing to external influencing, providing programme support, mentoring and capacity building to Oxfam staff (gender advisers and others) at global, regional and country levels
Support programme managers and staff working in development programmes, humanitarian and campaigning at country, regional and global levels in understanding gender issues in fragile and conflict affected contexts, and in defining, developing and delivering high quality programming, whether stand-alone or mainstreamed, that addresses Oxfam’s commitments to put women’s rights and gender justice at the centre of all our work
Support the development and dissemination of knowledge and good practice to drive continuous improvement of programme quality
Raise awareness, promote and lead communication of Oxfam’s work on Gender Justice in fragile and conflict affected contexts to internal and external audiences
Engage with external institutions for learning and influence and to provide appropriate advice to programme staff based on an understanding of current and potential programming.
Support fundraising on Multi-country programmes on Women’s rights and gender in fragile and conflict-affected countries
