As global advisor for gender & water development you will influence and strengthen the quality and impact of Oxfam’s Water programmes by ensuring that a transformative gender approach is integrated into water programmes in a way that redresses unequal gender power relations.
You will also work within the frameworks agreed within Practice Groups and closely with advisors to engage in holistic programme support to country teams and develop strong network relationships within Oxfam GB as well as across affiliates within the confederation.
What we are looking for
Are you passionate about gender justice and the human right to water? We want to make a step change in the way we promote gender inclusion, equity and integration in our development work related to water and sanitation programming, and in our policy influencing work to achieve equitable water and sanitation for all. If you understand the vulnerabilities felt most acutely by women and girls, we want to hear from you.
Oxfam GB works in a range of contexts, many of which are subject to repeat, cyclical environmental threats and/or longer-term political instabilities. This requires an innovative thinker and pragmatist who understands the impacts as well as the results of changing conditions, has the analytical skills and adaptive techniques to truly embed gender equity, protection and participation within sustainable water and sanitation solutions. If you are outcome-orientated, a self-starter, independent and good at communicating and engaging with others to develop ideas and solutions to complex problems, then come and join us.
