WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Oxfam GB seeks to recruit a new Global PMEL Advisor- Gender to deliver consistent, high quality advisory support to Oxfam programmes in more than 35 countries.
Oxfam puts women at the heart of what we do. We have an ambitious agenda around gender mainstreaming as well as standalone programming on women’s participation and transformative leadership; violence against women; and women’s economic empowerment. Good MEL is crucial to improve programme quality and in particular to deepen our understanding of how change happens for Gender Justice and Women’s Rights.
The job purpose for this role is to strengthen Oxfam’s ability to measure its gender and women’s rights programmatic work to improve programme quality and impact. In particular the post will contribute to the implementation of OGB’s Gender Justice programmatic Framework and its MEAL commitments, improving our capacity to assess the influence and impact of such work. This encompasses improving our capacity to measure change in women’s lives and on gender power relations, make a convincing case of the results of our work and support a culture of learning and reflective practice.
The post holder will play a lead role in the development and implementation of Oxfam’s PMEL systems and approaches, contributing to a culture of curiosity and enquiry that values learning and improving organisational capacity to measure impact. The post will provide specialist planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning advisory support to a wide range of interventions at national, regional and global levels in an integrated way that builds capacity, strengthens knowledge management, improves programme practice and ultimately impact.
The Global Advisor PMEL-Gender will work closely with Oxfam Great Britain’s (OGB) thematic teams, particularly with the Gender Justice Team, and will be well networked with other colleagues, teams and structures across Oxfam’s confederation.
