Tearfund has been operational in South Sudan since 1998, working in areas affected by conflict and chronic vulnerability in Northern Bahr el Ghazal and Jonglei states. Two field sites manage a number of projects, funded by institutional donors, focusing on the sectors of WASH, Hygiene Promotion, Emergency Nutrition, Food Security and Cash Programming. Tearfund has also worked in South Sudan for over 40 years through local partners and currently works with nine different partners each undertaking a variety of development, humanitarian and advocacy projects to contribute to the recovery and development of local communities.
Tearfund is seeking an experienced Grants and Information Coordinator to assist Area Coordinators and the Senior Management Team to produce high quality proposals and access donor funding for South Sudan's operational team. The role is responsible for coordinating all donor proposals and reporting, as well as being responsible for the donor project knowledge management systems. The Grants and Information Coordinator also manages up to two Grants and Information Officers for the programme, based in Juba.
The successful applicant will have a degree or equivalent, and will have had international NGO field experience in a similar position. The applicant should have an understanding of donor mechanisms, particularly institutional donors such as ECHO and USAID. He/she will have extensive experience in grant management, proposal development, budget management, experience in log frame management and project cycle management, experience in capacity building and training of national staff, and experience of strategic planning and project implementation.
The successful candidate will have excellent written English and communication skills, and be able to manage their own workload and work to strict guidelines. Good numeracy skill and proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. He/she will have excellent problem solving and analytical skills, as well as strong negotiation and representation skills. Tests will be conducted prior to the interview. The role is based in Juba, with frequent travel to field sites.
